We are dedicating this week's "Throwback Thursday" feature to School Bus Safety Week! We always appreciate the efforts of our school bus drivers and transportation staff as they work to get students to and from school safely. In this week's photo, transportation staff members from component districts enjoy a moment together at the Wayne Technical and Career Center in Williamson.
50 Years of Making Success Possible
Check back every Thursday as we dive into the BOCES archive to celebrate 50 years of Making Success Possible!
It's Thursday...and you know what that means! It's time for a #Throwback! A critical component of the Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES organization is the EduTech team. They literally keep us connected; virtually, technologically, you name it. Pictured here are some members of EduTech participating in a food drive at our Annual All Staff Day event!
Among the many Tech and Career programs offered at our Williamson and Stanley campuses is Auto Technology where students learn everything from computerized diagnostics to hands on repair. Students in the Auto Technology program have learned to service and maintain all types of cars and light trucks for years, some students even graduating and returning to the program to become instructors, like Jack Bauer. Mr. Bauer (pictured far right) is one of the current Auto Tech instructors at FLTCC and was also a student in the program taught by former instructor John Baker (far left). Former FLTCC Principal Judy Adams is also pictured presenting a Certificate of Appreciation to Mark Bowker from Shepard Ford. We love seeing full circle moments for our Throwback Thursdays and celebrating 50 years of Making Success Possible at Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES!
Our #ThrowbackThursday this week comes from sometime around late 1988-1989. Here, Tony Cerneskie celebrates a moment with a Dundee student attending our Finger Lakes Secondary School. The student is all smiles after finding a hidden candy bar during the Tri-County 4-H Club achievement day ceremony. Fifty-two students from FLSS attended the event at the 4-H camp in Bristol.
Today’s Throwback Thursday is from June of 1998.
Here, Mary Ellen Darling and Bob Bennett are pictured shutting down the Mainframe forever! It was first put into action in Clifton Springs in 1965.
