One student from the Pathways Technology Early College High School recently wrote about his experience with their Holiday Food Drive and the heartwarming feeling it left him with.
"If I had to sum up my experience with the PTECH food drive in one word it would be exquisite," said Aidan, a 10th grader at PTECH. "When I first thought of this idea I thought that it wouldn’t be very successful, considering we only have 77 students. Boy, I was wrong!"
The food drive ran for one week, and in that amount of time students collected 488 canned and boxed foods, which was turned into 15 boxes for families in need. "What I really think sparked people’s minds was we did a competition between Cohort levels for a pizza party," explained Aidan. "For the seniors, that was very apparent because altogether they collected 280 canned and boxed foods."
Aidan noted that the entire experience was very positive. "I think that my overarching well-being has increased in size, like a kickball being inflated. As the van with the boxes of food left PTECH, I felt my heart warm because it will affect so many people in such a good way! "
Way to go, Aidan, and all of the students at PTECH!
