W-FL BOCES LPN PROGRAM CHANGES

It is with sadness that we inform you that the Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES Adult Licensed Practical Nursing Program will be closing upon the completion of the current cohort's programming in August 2025. 

This program has served countless number of adult learners within our region with pride and purpose for over 65 years. We are immensely grateful for the incredible opportunity we have had educating those in the nursing field. 

However, as the landscape of adult nursing education continues to evolve with increasing instructional demands, programmatic requirements, and growing access to similar opportunities through other institutions—we’ve had to reflect carefully on how best to serve future students. 

After much deliberation, the Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES Board of Education has made the difficult decision to close the program. This choice was not made lightly and is not a reflection on the quality or value of the program, but rather a response to broader changes that have made it increasingly challenging to maintain. 

While this is a bittersweet message to share, it is of upmost importance that we relay our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has played a role in the success of this program. From regional organization and partnerships to local communities and individuals, we are honored that you have been a part of our journey.  

Program staff members are working closely with Finger Lakes Community College to support continued pathways for adult learners interested in entering the nursing profession. 

 As always, W-FL BOCES remains committed to providing high-quality educational opportunities for learners of all ages across our region. We thank our incredible instructors, staff, students, alumni, and community partners for helping make this program what it has been; a place of growth, service, and excellence.
