Financial Aid Verification Requirement
If a student is selected for verification by the Department of Education, or if the Student Aid Report (SAR) has conflicting information, the Financial Aid Office will verify the information by requesting additional information from the student. This requested information should be submitted directly to the Financial Aid Office.
If you are required to confirm the tax information reported on the FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid), you can use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool available on the FAFSA website, as the school can use the information transferred from the IRS to complete the verification process. Otherwise, you will be required to provide an IRS Tax Return Transcript available from the Internal Revenue Service website.
Printed, agency or self-prepared tax returns are no longer acceptable forms of documentation for verification purposes. If required for verification, you must provide an IRS Tax Return Transcript.
A student who fails to provide required documentation within the specified time frame, will be responsible for payment of all charges incurred.
