GVSBI (Genesee Valley School Boards Institute for Staff Development) was established in 1954 to provide support and training to boards of education in a 9 county region of upstate New York. In 1990, GVSBI partnered with the Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES.

Our current focus is to provide professional development opportunities for support staff within school districts. Each year we hold a variety of conferences to enhance skills, obtain certifications, teach required training, invoke awareness discussions, and to help support staff to achieve their professional goals.

We currently hold training conferences for:

  • Para-Educators / Paraprofessionals
  • Food Service Personnel
  • Transportation
  • Facilities Personnel
  • Pool Operator on Location
  • Safety & Security
