Philosophy

The Finger Lakes Secondary School (FLSS) serves students who have many strengths and talents. They come to us with a variety of individual differences and life stressors which contribute to their need for a personalized academic and social school setting.

Staff at FLSS perform with the highest professional standards and value the dignity of each individual. We are student advocates. We are dedicated to working as team members in a continuous improvement process.

We commit to creating a positive school experience which promotes student participation and encourages growth and change. We address many aspects of students' lives as they relate to educational success in order to help them become productive members of their communities who have a sense of their own dignity and worth.
