Awards will be provided directly to states, units of local government, Indian tribes, or public agencies (Sheriffs Office, Counties, Police Agencies, Municipalities).

Funding

Category 4 - A suburban area or medium-sized county defined as having a population between 100,000 and 500,000 - Ontario - 21 awards nation-wide for up to $250,000 each year for three years.

Category 5 - A rural area or small county defined as having a population of less than 100,000 – Wayne, Yates, and Seneca - 25 awards nation-wide for up to $100,000 each year for three years.

Recommendations:

It is recommended school districts first consult with their local mental health and law enforcement agency in regard to their interest. They will need to be the lead agency. This is very competitive. We were able to get this grant from the same fund last year for a county-wide collaboration with the county sheriffs office and county mental health.
