For the second year in a row, a student at Pathways Technology Early College High School (PTECH) has organized a Food Drive for the Holiday season. Aiden is a Junior at PTECH and a student from the Wayne Central School District. His reason for organizing the Food Drive is simple - he wants to help the community.
He took inspiration from his brother who helps with a Toy Drive for a local organization each year. Aiden approached PTECH Principal Kathi McGuigan who was happy to help facilitate the process, and within a few short weeks the non-perishable items were piling up. Aiden adds a little Holiday flare by wrapping the boxed goods to be distributed to local families in need. Last year the students were able to collect just over 300 items, and in it's second year the drive has more than doubled that amount. This year the students at PTECH surpassed their goal and, no doubt, put smiles on the faces of families in our region during the Holiday season.
"It's really pretty special to me that I have the chance to do this," Aiden said.
