The REV Theatre Co.                           (formerly Merry-Go-Round Theatre)

Located in Auburn, NY - REV Theatre Co. (formerly Merry-Go-Round Theatre has the largest Youth Theatre in Upstate New York and one of the largest in the country.

REV Theatre Co. reaches more than 125,000 students across the state through curriculum-based, multi-disciplinary events and activities.

Productions are chosen that complement the subject matter students study in each grade, and thus go hand-in-hand with curriculum. By visiting each classroom before the performance, the actors are able to explore, the content and production material for the show, in detail, as well as the related academic material.

The goal of these workshops is to prepare students to thoughtfully and actively view the play. Often, the inclusion of visual aids, such as pictures, props, and costumes from the performance, or having students act out parts from the show or imitate characters they will meet, helps the actors engage all of the students.

Carefully constructed study guides containing both pre and post-performance activities and areas of study, are sent to each classroom teacher. Working together as partners, the REV staff and teachers can meet many of the Learning Standards for The Arts, as well as support English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies, as outlined by the New York State Education Department.
