On March 5, 2019, students from the Wayne Technical and Career Center (WTCC) in Williamson participated in the SkillsUSA Regional Competition held at Alfred State College.
On March 4th, Derek Endres, Superintendent at Ruston Paving Company Inc., presented to Conservation and Power Mechanics students on the various career opportunities available.
On February 28th, Scott Peters, Operations Manager of Lakeview Lawn and Landscape Inc., 4477 County Road 1, Canandaigua, N.Y. 14424 visited with WTCC Conservation and Power Mechanics students.
On February 28th, representatives from OptiPro, 6368 Dean Parkway in Ontario spoke with students in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering; Power Mechanics and Computer Programming.
The following students have earned Quarterly Quality Student (QQS) awards at the Wayne Technical and Career Center (WTCC) in the second quarter. Quarterly Quality students have been recognized by their instructors for demonstrating exceptional skills in the following areas: Communication Skills, Personal and Workplace Behaviors, Quality Process Skills, and Specific Technical and Career Skills.
Honor Roll students have achieved a 90 or higher average in their technical program for the second marking period.
On Friday, February 8th WTCC students with exceptional attendance in the 2nd quarter were recognized.
On December 20th students in the Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering program at the Wayne Technical and Career Center (WTCC) toured the Harris Communication Systems Jefferson Road Operations Center in Rochester. The Harris Communication Systems Jefferson Road Operations Center builds, tests and ships military and public safety radios to customers in over 100 countries. Karen Flint, Security Administration of Harris Communication Systems coordinated the tour. WTCC Program instructors are: Jason Johnston, Kelly Paladino and Keith Rotach.
Dan Kobel, Admissions Representative at the Universal Technical Institute (UTI) met with Wayne Technical and Career Center (WTCC) students in: Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering, Auto Body Repair, Auto Technology, Conservation and Power Mechanics to discuss the various programs UTI offers.
Programs include: Automotive, CNC Machining, Collision Repair, Diesel, Marine, Motorcycle and Welding.
