Over the course of the 2-year program, Cosmetology students learn all about hair, nails and esthetics. Learning the theory and practicing the skills gives students the knowledge needed to prepare for the New York State Cosmetology Licensing Exam. Upon completion of 1000 hours, students may register for their NYS Boards and apply for their temporary NYS license to begin working in a salon. After taking and passing both the written and practical NYS exams, students will obtain a permanent license as a professional cosmetologist.
