Staff Spotlight: Meet Jessica Nightingale, the Magic Behind The Conference Center

If you’ve ever been to The Conference Center at Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES, you’ve undoubtedly run into Jessica Nightingale. From the early stages of big-picture, BOCES-all events to the tiniest details that need attention during a busy day, Jessica is embedded in all stages of project management, event planning, coordination and execution for the myriad events, trainings, meetings, celebrations and sessions that take place at The Conference Center every day.

The best part is that Jessica does it all with an unwavering smile on her face.

"I get the privilege of showcasing this beautiful and amazing Conference Center to our partners, our Component Districts, the community and our own employees, and that’s awesome," she said. "I love that I get to make a positive contribution every day."

Jessica has not been at Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES very long, but the effect she’s had in a short amount of time has left many of us in awe. Her ability to coordinate, plan and pivot — when necessary, which is often! — makes conferences and events seem effortless. Jessica joined W-FL BOCES in September 2025 as the Conference Center Coordinator, and has been raising the bar ever since.

“I wanted a place to grow a career, and I knew that from my initial interview," Jessica said. "I wanted to be at a place where people have been here for 10, 20, 30+ years. And this is a place where people feel valued and love the work they do."

The part of her job she likes best? Being part of a team of people that positively impacts students, teachers, administrators and community members each day.

Through her work at The Conference Center, she gets a first-hand look at the programs, support and offerings Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES provides and makes accessible for so many groups in the Wayne-Finger Lakes Region.

“I love that through this role I get an opportunity to meet new people, interact with familiar faces, and see first-hand the positive impact that Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES provides,” Jessica said.

Jessica exemplifies the W-FL BOCES commitment to leadership by striving to provide the best possible experience, and she prides herself on working hard to provide exemplary customer service, ongoing communication and a friendly face to everyone who walks through the doors at the Conference Center.

“My hope is that everyone who visits The Conference Center leaves with a positive experience and a desire to return,” she said.
