On Wednesday, October 14th, representatives of the NYS Thruway Department met with seniors in the Heavy Equipment Repair and Operation (HERO) program at the Wayne Technical and Career Center.
Students learned about different employment opportunities and had an open discussion about what a career in that field might look like. Members from the Thruway Department also arrived in different trucks to show students the type of equipment they might use in that line of work.
Representatives from the Thruway Department were John Breen, Todd Cummings, Jacob Hoffa and Clair Kerrick. We extend a huge thank you to them, and others at the NYS Thruway Authority, for their time and efforts in showcasing a potential career path for our HERO students.
